Two Detentions in the Aftermath of Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and have since been released.

Police detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
